In some instances you only have a short period of time to get people’s attention, unless they’re obviously going straight to your page. As a result, creative and clever posts and images will often do well. If you look at most of the posts with a high number of likes, they are normally the posts that think outside the box and don’t just say the same generic thing over again.

#6 is good because people don’t want the hassle of having to sign back in to Facebook in order to just like something.

@twitter-351527812:disqus – headlines and the first paragraph are the most important…I read somewhere that it takes the average reader less than 5 seconds to decide whether they want to read your post or not. Most of the time they will skim the content, reading only the first and last paragraphs. Thanks for reading :)

Rather than getting current followers to like things – where can I find information about how to get new followers/new likes for my business page?

Hi AMD, all of these above strategies work, but really it comes down to driving traffic to your Facebook page, and then having the correct ‘calls to action’ on your page to make the new prospect click ‘like.’ Have a look around SMMU, there’s lots of info here!
