Slideshare was first introduced back in 2006 and since then it has grown steadily. Today they claim over 20 million monthly visitors, and 60 million monthly page views.
In essence, Slideshare allows users to post business presentations and documents online where customers and leads can find them. They’ve even introduced two new programs to generate sales leads and to target specific audiences with presentations.
There are a lot of good reasons to consider using Slideshare as a part of your social media campaign, especially with programs like Adshare and Leadshare.
Posting a presentation on Slideshare gives sales leads a quick and easy introduction to your business and services. It’s also the perfect place to establish yourself as a thought leader, or industry futurist, not only through posting material of your own, but also through discussions with other people as well.
Because Slideshare garners a substantial amount of attention each month, search engines are more likely to broadcast user content with on the first page of a search result – which makes posting content here worth it, if only for that reason.
Slideshare can be extremely viral because it’s so easy to post links from your presentation onto other social media profiles. Be sure to make these links prominent, however, so that others can pick them up and spread them around as well.
